For cyclists and walkers alike, Quebec is a hard destination to look past. Known locally as La Belle Province’, Quebec (pronounced ‘kay bek’) is Canada’s largest province, and one of the most varied and beautiful.

Quebec is home to over 20% of Canada’s forests which include the Appalachian Mountain region and Cap Gaspé, where you’ll find the largest colony of gannets in the world.

A huge expanse of the Canadian Shield, which covers almost 90% of the province all the way up to the Arctic sits within Quebec. Here you’ll find the start/end of La Traversée de Charlevoix (part of the Trans Canada Trail) and Le P’tit Train du Nord linear park, the longest park of its kind in Canada, a 232km/144mi cycle path converted from an old railway line.

Further north, cyclists from around the world come to enjoy the trails along the immense Lac-Saint-Jean and the majestic fjord lands surrounding the mighty Saguenay River.

A unique highlight of Quebec lies far off its coast. The Magdalen Islands is an archipelago composed of elongated landforms with sweeping sand dunes, rolling green hills, ochre cliffs plunging into the sea. Brightly painted farmhouses and pretty lighthouses dot the landscape adding to the already inviting atmosphere, great for cycling and day hikes.
